A structure study of the electroless deposition of Au on Si(111):H

چکیده
Electroless deposition of gold in monolayer amounts on hydrogen terminated Si(1 1 1) was studied by a variety of structure sensitive techniques. Rutherford back scattering data revealed a linear relationship between the Au coverage and the concentration of the Au solution used for deposition. Atomic force microscopy and surface X-ray diffraction studies indicated cluster formation, with the Au(1 1 1) face epitaxially aligned to the Si(1 1 1):H substrate. However, Xray standing wave experiments at coverage below one monolayer suggested the formation of a gold layer. Both clusters and isolated Au atoms appear to be present at all coverages, which is explained by the formation of type of Au ‘wetting layer’, in addition to cluster formation which increases as the coverage increases. 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. Metal deposition on n-Si(111):H electrodes
Well-defined monohydride-terminated n-Si(111) electrodes were used to study electrodeposition of Pb and Cu as well as electroless Au deposition on these surfaces. With classical electrochemical methods, in-situ STM, ex-situ AFM, SEM and in-situ SXRD, the initial stages of metal deposition and the epitaxial properties of the metal deposit were investigated. © 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. Ni-P Electroless coatings provide appropriate resistance to wear and corrosion. Co-deposition of particles between layers can improve their properties, especially general corrosion and erosion-corrosion behavior by means of nano diamond as reinforcing particles. In this study Ni-P/nano diamond composite deposition were deposited on steel substrate. Structure of the coatings and corrosion r...
متن کاملElectroless deposition of Au onto Si(111) studied by surface second harmonic generation
Electroless deposition of Au onto hydrogen-terminated Si(111) from aqueous HF solutions has been studied by Rutherford backscattering (RBS) and in situ surface second harmonic (SH) generation. The SH signal as a function of time goes through a maximum which becomes stronger and occurs at shorter times as the HF concentration is increased. This can be explained through resonant enhancement of th...
متن کاملElectrochemical Deposition of Flower-Like Nickel Nanostructures on Well-Defined n-Si (111):H
In this paper the electrodeposition of nickel on n-Si(111):H substrate, in the presence of sulphuric acid, was studied. Cyclic voltammetry has been used to characterize the electrochemical behavior of the system. The nickel deposits had a flower-like morphology with the sphericalnanostructure nucleus, distributed uniformly on the surfaces of the prepared n-Si(111) substrate.
متن کاملInterfacial bonding of gold nanoparticles on a H-terminated Si(100) substrate obtained by electro- and electroless deposition.
Dome-shaped gold nanoparticles (with an average diameter of 10.5 nm) are grown on H-terminated Si(100) substrates by simple techniques involving electro- and electroless deposition from a 0.05 mM AuCl3 and 0.1 M NaClO4 solution. XPS depth profiling data (involving Au 4f core-level and valence band spectra) reveal for the first time the formation of gold silicide at the interface between the Au ...
